WELLBEING & PROTECTION POLICY STATEMENT
Fife Netball Association
1- The wellbeing of children is everyone’s responsibility, particularly when it comes to protecting them from wellbeing concerns, poor practice and abuse. Everyone in netball – committee member, club official, coach, parent, friend, participants themselves – can help. The club will place the needs of the child first and winning and competition second.

2. The underlying principles with respect to Wellbeing & Child Protection are that:
- The child’s wellbeing is the first consideration
- All children regardless of age, any disability they have, gender, racial origin, religious belief and sexual identity have a right to be protected from abuse and exploitation
- Children must be treated with integrity and respect
- Children’s programmes and competitions will be relevant to their ages and stages of development
3. We are bound by and follow the Netball Scotland Wellbeing & Child Protection Policy, procedures and guidelines. All our volunteers/staff are members of Netball Scotland.

FNA aims to create an enjoyable environment, where all its members, especially children, have the right to be safe, secure and free from threat.
- Acknowledges that it's members, especially children, have the right to be treated with respect and for their concerns to be listened to and acted upon
- Will aim to ensure that junior members have special programmes designed for them, with adequate support and supervision
- Is committed to ensuring that all helpers, whatever their role, complete a Club Registration Form, sign the relevant Code of Conduct and if in a childcare/adult at risk role, complete a PVG Application and a Self-Declaration and Reference Form form in relation to Child Protection
- Provides clear, comprehensive, easily understood procedures for dealing with:
â—¦ allegations of abuse
â—¦ complaints and allegations of poor practice
â—¦ requests for help and support on a confidential basis
â—¦ is committed to an equitable recruitment selection policy for coaches
â—¦ will always emphasise fair play
- Promote an environment where all legitimate concerns can be raised without fear of victimisation or reprisal
-Require all those working with children to attend a Child Wellbeing & Protection in Sport (CWPS) or equivalent workshop and have a satisfactory PVG check
